How we classify the papers
Every paper is tagged three ways so you can slice the field fast. Source type separates peer-reviewed published work from working papers and conference papers. Method marks whether a paper is empirical (it tests a claim on data) or theoretical (it builds a formal model). Topic places each paper in the areas it speaks to most, from platform governance and regulation to pricing, matching, trust, gig labor, and data and AI. The heat map above counts papers by topic and journal, so a glance tells you where the field is concentrating right now.
